Marissa is a lawyer by day and an author by night, with a career steeped in the world of criminal law. She has served as a public defender, a prosecutor, and now works as an assistant attorney general for the State of Florida. Over the years, she has handled hundreds of criminal cases—from DUI to murder—guiding them through every stage of the process, from investigation to jury trial to post-conviction appeals. In addition to her courtroom experience, Marissa is a seasoned professor, having taught both substantive law and practical skills courses at the college level. As an author, she brings her love of history and faith to life through biblical and historical fiction. Marissa is thrilled to be a part of the 2026 FCWC faculty!
