Kevin Thompson

C. Kevin Thompson is an award-winning author of several books, including The Serpent’s Grasp (2013 Selah Award for First Fiction category – 1st Place), 30 Days Hath Revenge (2013 Reader’s Favorite – Christian Fiction category – 2nd Place), and The Letters (2020 AWSA Golden Scrolls 2nd Place finish in The Christian Market Book Awards and the 2021 Selah Award for Speculative Fiction category – 1st Place). The Near Distant: Eye of the Beholder, was a finalist in the 2023 Selah Awards (Novella category).

Kevin is a member of Word Weavers International, has been part of the formation of two WW chapters, and is currently active in the Lake County (FL) group and also serves as a mentor for three other groups across the United States. He has served as a judge for several contests, including the ACFW Carol Awards and Genesis Awards, and was a regular contributor for Seriously Write for almost six years, where his articles appeared monthly. More recently, he served as script writer for Raising Godly Boys, a ministry of Trail Life USA.

Prior to publishing fiction, Kevin's previously published works—all articles—appeared in such publications as The Wesleyan Advocate, The Preacher, and Vista, as well as in newspapers such as The Des Moines Register (Iowa) and The Ocala Star-Banner (Florida). Kevin has served as a pastor and has been an educator for over twenty years, currently serving as an assistant principal at a high school of over 2,100 students. He lives with his wife in the central Florida area, where he’s busy researching and writing his next novel. Additionally, he’s also maintains two blogs. One is a blog series of Bible studies which will eventually become a book of their own, titled The King and His Kingdom: Viewing This Life Through the Eyes of the Almighty. The other is a new author database of sorts, wherein Kevin features a new author every quarter.The Author Behind the Story blog series now boasts over 86,000 hits.
