John Herring

John is the CEO/Owner of Iron Stream Media. John started his career serving local churches as an executive pastor, discipleship pastor, and consultant. In 2006 one of his ministry clients invited him to work with them on an aggressive church curriculum project. He has been in the publishing industry ever since.  John has been serving churches or church-related entities for over 40 years. John continues to support churches and ministries in publishing, curriculum development, strategic thinking/planning, discipleship, staff development, mentoring, and connecting the dots between ministries and people. He is also an entrepreneur, having started several small businesses. John can see the potential of connections everywhere, especially between churches and ministry suppliers. 

His favorite discussions include his Lord, his family (especially his grandchildren), missions, business as ministry, and coffee. You’ll recognize these names: Iron Stream Media, Life Bible Study, Student Life Bible Study, New Hope Publishers, Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas, and Brookstone Creative Group. They are all a part of the Iron Stream Media Family now.

John holds the Doctor of Educational Ministry degree and a Masters in Christian Education from 
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Samford University. 

John and his wife, Stacy, live in Birmingham with their little dog, Bo, short for Bogey. They have two children and four grandchildren.
