Deb Haggerty

Deb Haggerty is Publisher and Editor in Chief of Elk Lake Publishing, Inc., a traditional, royalty-paying Christian publisher that works with you in a non-traditional way. Elk Lake publishes around a hundred books annually for which they’ve won multiple awards. Their family of authors numbers over two hundred. Elk Lake’s interests are speculative fiction, contemporary, and mystery/suspense in particular—combine all three, and you’ll have a hit with Deb—middle grade, and young adult. Non-traditional nonfiction that speaks to today’s issues is also a winner.

Deb is an author, blogger, and professional speaker. She has more than thirty years’ experience in the Christian speaking/writing industry. Deb has authored two books: Experiencing God’s Love in a Broken World—A Spiritual Journey, cowritten with her husband, Roy, and These Are the Days of My Life, her memoir with a bonus section of business tips.

Roy and Deb live just outside Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Elk Lake is looking for :

• All genres of fiction from children’s to middle grade to YA to adult
• We are especially interested in mystery/suspense and speculative fiction.

We are not looking for:

• Cozy Amish or Westerns
• We rarely accept nonfiction, but if we are presented with an interesting concept, we may ask for a proposal
• We do not take memoirs, poetry, devotionals, or Bible studies as our schedule for these genres is full through 2024
