Three Questions, Three Answers
Tuesday, January 7, 2014 by B.J. Taylor

Three Questions:

1. Not sure where to start with your writing or maybe you have a book completed and wonder where to go from here?

2. Wondering if you need a writers conference?

3. Not sure if spending money on your writing career when you’re not making any is a good idea?

Three Answers:

1. I have the perfect class for you if you’re wondering where to start. True, personal experience stories are my favorite and I have a formula that will help YOU write short stories that SELL. Best place to meet people to connect with if you’ve finished a book is at a well-run writers conference like FCWC.

2. A writers conference is not only a need, it is a must. It’s where you LEARN to hone your craft, LISTEN to those in the know, LINGER over relationships that can propel your writing career forward.

3. The best money I ever spent was in attending a big writers conference like this one. We may write in a vacuum, but our readers don’t live in one. We may like our solitude, but our readers want to get lost in a well-crafted story filled with rich characters, intense drama, and lots and lots of conflict.

Come to listen, learn, and linger long into the days and nights and take home with you the tools you need to become a published author. Oh, sure, you could be one of the small percentage of writers who send out their work to an anonymous agent or editor and get it published, but the fact is, most publishing is done based on relationships. Come forge yours at the FCWC this year.

Polly, I'm so glad you feel better. Listen, Learn & Linger is exactly what I did my first time at a big conference. And it sure paid off! Be sure to find me at the conference and I'll give you a warm welcoming hug. Deal?

""Listen, Learn & Linger"" ~ THAT, I can do. Thank you for those three words of advice to this nervous first-timer.
